HALF BAKED: Unfinished. Ill-conceived. Not thought all the way through. It seemed like a good idea at the time…though perhaps at the time, the person who came up with the idea was half-baked themselves. In any case, joining us for a celebration of our most ambitious mistakes is always a good idea, no matter what time it is! 
 
$10 Adults, $7 Students

A message from Harold Branch (HB), Founder of Home Base Poetry,

HomeBase Poetry was an epic, melanin rich, poetry movement in Arizona impacting and gaining praise and respect nationwide. Our 10 years journey ended in January but our influence and support for our community lives on.

To be clear, HomeBase Poetry is retired; however in support of Black veterans, HomeBase Poetry is partnering with HeroZona and the newly remodeled American Legion Post 65 in south Phoenix to present 2 special open mic events hosted by yours truly, HB and the HomeBase crew. All donations will be used for the American Legion’s youth programs and scholarships. Now that’s a good reason for a little comeback.

HomeBase Heroes will be August 11th and Sept 8th only. Come get on the mic and represent your craft. Are you a vet AND a poet or singer? Send me a message because we definitely want to hear from you. Remember, you don’t have to be in the military, past or current, to rock the mic. I don’t have military experience and I can’t wait to SHOW OUT with some never heard before work.

Theme: ANIMALS: Prepare a five-minute story involving creatures great or small from the glorious animal kingdom. Scaly, furry, feathered. The hunted or the pampered. The feared or the cuddled! Man's best friend or foe. Roadkill, pests and party animals welcome too.

Put your name in the hat, ten tellers will be selected.

*Seating is not guaranteed and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be sure to arrive at least 10 minutes before the show. Admission is not guaranteed for late arrivals. All sales final.

$15 - Advance purchase recommended (with fees, comes to $19.50)
